Which billing period makes sense?

Monthly is the lowest-commitment option for a short research sprint. Quarterly and yearly reduce the effective monthly cost if you know domain hunting is an ongoing process. Lifetime only makes economic sense if you expect to keep using the product long enough for the one-time payment to beat recurring subscriptions.

A simple break-even comparison against the current annual plan is roughly 2.9 years. That is arithmetic, not a prediction that product pricing, features or your own needs will stay unchanged.

Refund conditions

The official pricing page says the guarantee applies when you cancel and request the refund before the first month ends, have performed fewer than 25 searches during the test drive, and have never previously had a paid RegisterCompass account. Read the merchant terms at checkout because conditions can change.

What the subscription includes

The public FAQ says there are no limits on search frequency and that filters can be combined. Other feature pages document saved searches, scheduled email reports, export options and domain research tools. The subscription does not make the domains themselves free; auction bids, registrations and backorders are separate acquisition costs paid to the relevant provider.
